Joint reconstruction: Hip
RNOH are leaders in the treatment and research of all problems associated with the hip in adults. This service includes the diagnosis and treatment of problems arising from hip disorders that started in childhood and the full range of surgery for arthritis.
The unit performs a large number of revision hip replacements each year for patients from across the UK and is recognised for its specialist expertise in this area. A wide range of techniques is used including cemented and uncemented fixation as well as extensive experience in custom-made prostheses using CAD CAM technology.

We accept referrals from GPs via the NHS e-referral system.
Urgent Inpatient Referrals
Any urgent inpatient referral must be made via email@example.com.
We can only accept a referral if the following documents are submitted to us, with any supplementary paperwork. We can no longer accept telephone referrals or those based solely on a clinic referral letter for urgent inpatient referrals. You can use this form to refer patients whose care you want us to take over, or for an urgent opinion in our MDT and/or radiology review meetings.
The JRU MDT meet every Thursday morning, therefore we request that your referral be submitted to us no later than 12:00pm on the Tuesday, with all the relevant paperwork completed.

There are two fellowship positions for post CCT surgeons, with FRCS (Tr&Orth) or equivalent, wishing to undertake further training in complex hip and knee surgery.
The fellow will spend one year at the RNOH rotating between the consultants.
