Parent accommodation

Accommodation on site is basic and very limited so it is advisable to book in advance

The accommodation may not be suitable for anyone with some disabilities as most of the accommodation is on first floor level with no lifts or bar assistance.

There are 16 single bedrooms allocated to parents of children who are patients and are aged between 0 to 17 years old, and four units of guest rooms for relatives of adult patients (18 years old and above).

A parent booking is not a guarantee as we are unable to predict what rooms become available until the admission date. However, a parent maybe able to sleep on the ward if there is a pull out bed available. It is always advisable to add your details in advance on the reservation list in order to assess on the day what is available.

A guest booking is a confirmed booking and guests must vacate on the day of their requested departure in order to accommodate the next guest booking.

The parent/carers accommodation and two of the units of guest rooms are for single occupancy (no sharing permitted), a twin room and a self-contained flat with more than one member of the same family can use. All is provided with basic hospital bedding and towels. The kitchen, lounge, bathroom, showers, toilets and laundrette facilities are shared, except in the self-contained unit.

There is a restaurant on site and you can also use the kitchen facilities provided in each accommodation area where you are advised to provide your own food and beverages.

The charge for the guest rooms is between £25.00- £40.00 per night (Jan 2019). There is no charge for the parent rooms, although any donations are gratefully appreciated and will go towards the up-keep of the accommodation.

When booking/reserving a unit, visa card details are required to release the room and for any loss or damages.

The accommodation office hours are: 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.

If a patient’s hospital appointment is cancelled the guest is to contact the accommodation office directly, on 020 8909 5872, and not to leave a message with any other ward/department, otherwise the full booking charge will be made.
