Delivering Excellence in Evaluating Devices to Transform Patient Care

The Device Evaluation Centre (DEC) at the internationally renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital offers an excellent service to commercial companies on post marketing surveillance (PMS) and clinical follow up studies (PMCF) on implants and assistive healthcare technology for the benefit of patient care.

By working with us, you can be confident that our common goal is to ensure that your product is of benefit to patient care and the NHS. We do this by using our foresight to guide you through evolving regulations to recruiting patients to your study.

DEC is unique as it provides access to world leading surgeons and NHS patient population needed for your study to be a success. There are 3 key services which we can provide.

Our pricing is fair and in line with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Industry costing template. A simple and transparent pricing structure helps you to understand the true costs involved in conducting a PMS and PMCF. Please note that an initial commitment agreement needs to be signed prior to commencement of any work.

We conduct PMS and PMCF studies for implants or assistive healthcare technology already used within the RNOH. However, if you require PMS or PMCF on an implants or assistive healthcare technology currently not used locally our procurement department will need to be approached. DEC works collaboratively with Procurement to ensure that there is a clear process for commercial companies who wish to work with us.

A study is only taken on the basis that we can deliver on recruitment, cost and timelines. Also the quality of the study is another key factor taken into consideration, as outstanding patient care is central to everything that we do.
